What is DOST Scholarship Program?

DOST-SEI (Department of Science and Technology – Science Education Institute) scholarships supports qualified college and graduate students to pursue career opportunities in science and technology.

You are eligible for one of the following DOST-SEI Science and Technology Undergraduate Scholarships if you are a senior high school graduate:

RA 7687, also known as the “Science and Technology Act of 1994.”
Merit Scholarship Program of the DOST-SEI.

Types of DOST Scholarships

DOST Scholarships mainly offers two types of Scholarships which we will learn in detail :

1. RA 7687, also known as the “Science and Technology Act of 1994.”

This undergraduate scholarship program is open to deserving but low‐income individuals who would like to pursue a degree in one of the priority fields of science, mathematics, or engineering.
Your family’s yearly gross income must not exceed the program’s cut-off values to be eligible for this grant.

2. Merit Scholarship Program of the DOST-SEI

If you have a good aptitude in science and mathematics and wish to study in a DOST priority field, you can still apply for the DOST-SEI Merit Program.

Latest DOST Updates.

The deadline for applying for the DOST-SEI Undergraduate Scholarship in 2022 has been extended until January 31, 2022.
Beginning October 22, 2021, aspirant Senior High School students can apply for the 2022 DOST-SEI Undergraduate Scholarship.
The DOST E-Scholarship System will be utilized to submit applications and paperwork.
The application date is November 30, 2021.
In May 2022, the results of the 2022 Scholarships will be posted on the DOST’s official website.
All qualifiers will also be emailed a Notice of Award.
The online applications for the DOST Junior Level Science Scholarships (JLSS) for 2021 are now available and will close on September 30, 2021.
The deadline for applications and supporting documentation is November 30, 2021.

The Requirements for this Scholarship is as follows :

For “Science and Technology Act of 1994,” or R.A. 7687.

To be qualified for this scholarship, you must fulfil the following requirements:

Must be a Filipino citizen by birth

What are the Benefits of this Scholarship program

Students apply for DOST scholarships to ease with the financial burden of attending college. DOST scholarship offers the following benefits to their scholars:

Tuition Fees: Php 40, 000 per year (Only for those who will enroll in private Higher Education Institutions)
Book Allowance: Php 10,000 per academic year
Thesis Allowance: Php 10,000
Monthly Living Allowance: Php 7,000
PE/MS Uniform Allowance: Php 1,000
Transportation Allowance: 1 economy-class round trip fare (for those studying outside home province)
Graduation Allowance: Php 1,000

If a student’s curriculum requires summer classes, DOST College scholarship will additionally provide following benefits:

Tuition and Other School Fees: Php 1,500

Steps to Apply for DOST College Scholarship offline

Fill the scholarship application form completely with all details (given below)
Submit the application form it to your nearest Science Education Institute or the DOST Regional Office/Provincial Science and Technology Center.
The test permit for the exam will be mailed to you or the administrator of your school. If you haven’t received the test permit within a week before the exam date, you may enquire at your nearest DOST Regional Office or check the nearest designated test center a day before the exam.

Update: Unless absolutely necessary, DOST urges manual applications for the 2022 DOST Scholarship Program due to the current status of our health and quarantine restrictions. Candidates must therefore submit their supporting documentation through the DOST Online Application Portal.

Steps to Apply for DOST Scholarship online

You can start applying for DOST scholar once you have finished all the documentation requirements and are aware of the information mentioned above (such as the annual gross income of your mother and father, among other things).

Go to DOST-SEI Undergraduate E-Scholarships Application website and register with a valid email address.
Submit your personal information (your name and birthdate) along with your email address to get a verification message to the email address you provided.
Once the verification message is received, click on link which will take you to Eligibility Mode. Please note that if your application is rejected, you may receive a disqualification notice.
After Entering Eligibility Mode, Fill in all the necessary details
Submit the following to proceed:

NCR students, can get their Scholarship application form from the Science Education Institute (SEI), 2nd level, Science Heritage Bldg. DOST Compound, General Santos Avenue, Bicutan, Taguig City.
Candidates from other regions can get their Scholarship application form through any DOST Regional Office or Provincial Science and Technology Center.

If the name of the school you attended from Grade 9 to Grade 12 is not available in the E-scholarship system, you must submit a request to a DOST staff member in your school region. The following information must be included in the request:
