The British council STEM Scholarship 2023 is open to all eligible Filipino women to apply. British council has announced the launch of STEM Scholarship especially for those women who are passionate about your study. Filipino women who are interested to continue their education in the STEM field can apply for the Scholarship.

What is British council STEM Scholarship

The British Council is launching its Women in STEM scholarship program for the third year in partnership with 21 UK universities, with the goal of benefiting women from the Americas, South Asia, East Asia, Western Balkans, Central Asia, Brazil, Egypt, Mexico, and Turkey.

If you have a degree in a STEM subject, you can receive a scholarship to pursue a master’s degree in science, technology, engineering, or mathematics at a prestigious UK university.

Alternatively, if you have completed a PhD in STEM within the last three years, you could apply for an Early Academic Fellowship scholarship.

Qualifications for STEM Scholarship

Following are the general qualifications required to apply for British council STEM Scholarship:

the applicant can take up a course of study in the UK for the academic year from September/October 2023 – 2024
can demonstrate a need for financial support
have an undergraduate degree that will enable them to gain access to one of the pre-selected postgraduate courses at a UK university (for Masters level) or completed all components of PhD in the last three years (for Early Academic Fellowships)
are active in the field with work experience or a proven interest in their subject area
can attain the level of English required for postgraduate study/research at a UK university
are passionate about their course of study and are willing to engage as committed British Council scholarship alumni

Non Eligibility for Scholarship

Following are the reasons for non eligibility to apply for this Scholarship:

Hold dual British citizenship
Are an employee, a former employee, or relative (*) of an employee of His Majesty’s Government (including British Embassies/High Commissions; the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy; Department for International Trade; the Ministry of Defence; and the Home Office)
Are an employee, a former employee, or relative (*) of an employee of the British Council Scholarships for Women in STEM – eligible countries
(*): Relatives are defined as parents or stepparents, siblings or stepsiblings, children or stepchildren, spouse, civil partner or unmarried partner (where the couple have been in a relationship akin to marriage or civil partnership for at least two years).
Are currently in receipt of financial support or funding towards your study programme in the UK from any other source
Have previously studied in the UK with funding from a UK Government-funded scholarship or a UK institutional scholarship/financial bursary.

Scholarship Application Deadline

The Deadline for the British council STEM Scholarship 2023 depends and varies upon the chosen Institutions. The last deadline is on May 22, 2023.

So, you are advised to contact the chosen institution to check for deadline and check carefully on the website of your chosen university for full details of key dates and their application process

How to Apply for the British council STEM Scholarship

Interested and eligible applicants can apply for the Scholarship by submitting their application directly to the participating universities (links given below). You may submit more than one application, but you must do so through the preferred institution.

Please keep in mind that in order to be eligible for Early Academic Fellowships, you must have completed all components of a PhD within the last three years.
