PHINMA National Scholarship 2023-2024 is open to apply for all eligible college students. The PHINMA Foundation announced the launch of PHINMA National Scholarship program for S.Y 2023-2024 via a Facebook post on July 15, 2023.

PHINMA National Scholarship program 2023

The PHINMA National Scholarship (PNS) program was launched first in the year 2006 as PHINMA celebrated its 50th anniversary.

PNS offers financial support as well as mentorship and development opportunities as part of its aim to improve lives through education and nation-building.

The aim of the program is to create professionals who have the capacity to lead the generations that follow. PNS seeks to shape the students into socially conscious persons who will support the economic and social advancement of the Philippines through a distinctive development.

Till date, this scholarship program has produced over 250 licensed accountants, engineers, and teachers.

Benefits of PHINMA National Scholarship

The benefits of PHINMA National Scholarship program are as follows:

Annual book allowance	Php 2,000
Annual uniform / clothing allowance	Php 1,500
Additional professional development allowance	Php 3,000

Apart from the above benefits, PNS Scholars are also entitled to following privileges:

• Assistance for Graduation fee,
• One-time board review assistance,
• Cash incentives for graduates with Latin honors,
• Cash incentives for first-time board passers and placers, and
• Participation in PHINMA Leadership and Mentorship Program which include:
  • 1PHINMA Youth Leadership Camp
  • Educational tours
  • Cultural activities
  • Skills workshop/training
  • Sevice/Volunteer opportunities

*100% Financial Assistance on tuition and fees for the normal length of a particular course (Fees may also be offset by other scholarships)

Following is the list of 5 partner schools and universities of PHINMA National Scholarship:

• Philippine Normal University (PNU) – Manila
• University of the Philippines (UP) – Diliman
• Polytechnic University of the Philippines (PUP) – Sta. Mesa
• PHINMA University of Pangasinan – UPang Dagupan and Urdaneta
• Technological University of the Philippines (TUP) – Manila

Who can apply for Scholarship

Following is the list of general qualifications required to be eligible to apply for PHINMA National Scholarship:

• The candidate must be a Filipino citizen
• Student must be enrolled in one of the partner universities
• Must be in need of financial assistance to finish college studies
• Must show keen interest in development, leadership and national building
• Does not have an immediate relative under the PNS scholarship program or PNS alumni association.

Eligibility Criteria

Following is the list of eligibility criteria required by specific universities to apply for scholarship

Philippine Normal University-Manila

First year students enrolled and intend to major in the following:

• English
• Filipino
• Early Childhood
• Mathematics
• Sciences
• Social Science
• Information Technology

University of the Philippines (UP) – Diliman

First year students must be enrolled in any of the following:

1. BS in Civil Engineering
2. BS in Electrical Engineering
3. BS in Electronics Engineering
4. BS in Industrial Engineering
5. BS in Mechanical Engineering

PHINMA University of Pangasinan – UPang Dagupan and Urdaneta

First year students must be enrolled in the following:

1. BS in Civil Engineering
2. BS in Electrical Engineering
3. BS in Electronics Engineering
4. BS in Accountancy
5. Any Education course

Polytechnic University of the Philippines (PUP) -Sta. Mesa

Incoming 2nd year students enrolled in the following:

• Bachelor of Science in Accountancy (BSA)

Technological University of the Philippines (TUP) – Manila

Incoming 2nd year students enrolled in the following:

1. BS in Civil Engineering
2. BS in Electrical Engineering
3. BS in Electronics Engineering
4. BS in Mechanical Engineering

Documentary Requirements

Following is the list of documents required to apply for PHINMA National Scholarship:

1. For PNU Manila, UP Diliman, and UPang applicants:
   • Clear copy of Transcript of Records from SHS, or complete copy of Gr 11 & 12 report cards
2. For PUP Sta. Mesa and TUP Manila applicants:
   • Clear copy of 1st Year College Transcript of Records
3. Registration or Enrollment Form
4. Latest copy of the family breadwinner’s Income Tax Return (ITR), or Certificate of Non-filing of ITR
5. At least 2 recommendation letters from any of the following:
   • PNS Alumni
   • Grade 12 class adviser [for 1st year applicants]
   • SHS principal [for 1st year applicants]
   • College adviser/professor [for 2st year applicants]
   • Community org leader
   • Previous employer if applicable
6. Proof of submission (link given below)

Guidelines for Recommendation letter

Following are the guidelines to be followed for the Recommendation letter:

1. Official logo of school/organization.
2. Full name and address of school/organization.
3. Date of writing
4. Enumerated answers to the following questions:
   • Who is the applicant? How do you know them?
   • When and how did you observe the applicant’s commendable skills and/or laudable behavior if any? Briefly narrate one specific incident.
   • PNS aims to produce leaders and nation-builders by providing the underserved yet exceptional youth not just with financial support but also with monthly leadership development activities. The program requires strong commitment from the scholars, and maintains high expectations of them even beyond graduation. Why do you think the applicant deserves this scholarship?
5. Full name and signature of recommender.
6. Position and contact details of the recommender.

NOTE: Please note that Each letter should NOT be more than 1 page, short bond paper size. Use Arial 11, black font only.

How to Apply for PHINMA National Scholarship

All interested and eligible applicants can apply for PHINMA National Scholarship 2023-2024 by filling out the application form and submitting the required documents at the Office of Student Affairs and Development.

Students are advised to keep the Proof of Submission of documents and bring it to the Interview.
