Gokongwei Brothers Scholarship 2024-2025 is Open

The Gokongwei Brothers Foundation Scholarship 2024 program is now open to apply for all eligible college students in the Philippines. Recently, the GBF Foundation announced the opening of Online Application for its scholarship programs for the school year 2024-2025.

Gokongwei Brothers Scholarship

The Gokongwei Brothers Scholarship is an initiative by the Gokongwei Brothers Foundation to support the education of eligible and deserving college students and practicing educators who are pursuing education in the STEM Courses in their schools and communities.

Gokongwei Brothers Scholarship is now open to apply for the school year 2024-2025. Students pursuing education in the qualified priority programs can apply for the scholarship.

Types of Gokongwei Brothers Scholarship

Gokongwei Brothers Foundation is offering two types of scholarships under this program and they are as follows:

  1. TeachSTEM College Scholarship
  2. TeachSTEM Master’s Scholarship

TeachSTEM College Scholarship

The GBF TeachSTEM College Scholarship Program is to prepare and equip aspiring teachers to become competent educators and STEM experts who can provide the students with conducive and meaningful learning experiences.

College Scholarship Benefits

Following are the benefits of TeachSTEM College Scholarship:

  • Financial Grant
    • State University: ₱65,000 per year
    • Private University: ₱85,000 per year
  • Scholarship Grant
    • Scholarship grants are sent directly to bank accounts of scholars  
    • Financial grants may be used for educational expenses like tuition, books, supplies, living expenses, and conduct of research.  
  • Scholar Development Program
    • Access to capacity-building programs (e.g., leadership development, upskilling, subject content mastery)
    • Get support from a community of educators

Eligibility Requirements for College Scholarship

Following is the list of qualifications required to be eligible to apply for college scholarship program:

  • Students must be currently enrolled as 1st, 2nd or 3rd year taking a bachelor’s degree in education with specialization in STEM-related fields, tech-voc training education, or general education. Student scheduled to graduate in AY 2024-2025 are not eligible to apply for this scholarship.  
  • He or She must be enrolled in GBF partner teacher education institution (TEI) or enrolled in a teacher education institution (TEI) with LET performance above the national average
  • Must have no failed, dropped, or incomplete grades in the previous academic year
  • Must have a general weighted average of at least 85% or its equivalent from the previous academic year.
  • Has involvement in extracurricular or community activities 
  • Willing to teach in a public school in their community after graduation 
  • Must be of good moral standing and have no existing disciplinary case 
  • Must be in need of financial support to complete studies 
  • Preferably not a recipient of other scholarships  

Priority Courses for College Scholarship

Following is the list of degree programs qualified for the college scholarship program:

  • Bachelor in Elementary Education (BEEd)
  • Bachelor of Secondary Education (BSEd) Major in:
    • Science (General Science, Biology, Chemistry and Physics)
    • Mathematics
  • Bachelor in Information Technology Education (BITED)
  • Bachelor of Technology and Livelihood Education (BTLED)
  • Bachelor of Technical Vocational Teacher Education (BTVTED) (with Science and Technology Inclination)
  • Other courses accepted, subject to availability of scholarship slots
    • Bachelor in Early Childhood Education (BECEd)
    • Bachelor in Special Needs Education (BSNEd)

Documentary Requirements

Following is the list of documents required to apply for GBF TeachSTEM College Scholarship program:

  1. Fully accomplished online application form accessible which will be visible once the you complete the eligibility questionnaire
  2. Proof of enrollment or admission
    • Submit certificate of registration from the current semester (1st Term AY 24-25)
  3. Certified true copy of grades
    • If 1st year college, submit SHS Form 138 or Grade 12 True Copy of Grades
    • If 2nd year and above, submit True Copy of Grades from the previous terms attended for AY 23-24
  4. Official grading system of university or school
    • This can be any document from the institution showing the transmutation of grades in the university/school. (E.g.: 2.0 = 80%)
  5. Portfolio reflecting one’s community involvement and its impact in the community

  6. Certificate of good moral character from the current year (Dated 2024)
  7. Proof of household income
    • If applicant has employed parents/guardians, submit one of the following: Certificate of Employment with position and salary, OR latest ITR, OR BIR Form 2316
    • If applicant has unemployed parents/guardians, submit a BIR Exemption certificate obtained from the BIR Office.
  8. Proof of residence
    • Photo of residence, AND
    • Proof of billing OR barangay certificate

TeachSTEM Master’s Scholarship

The goal of the GBF TeachSTEM Master’s Scholarship Program is to give working educators the chance to improve vital information that will help them in the future to change and reform educational practices, policies, and institutions.

Master’s Scholarship Benefits

Following are the benefits of TeachSTEM Master’s Scholarship:

  • Financial Grant
    • State University: ₱45,000 per year
    • Private University: ₱65,000 per year
  • Scholarship Grant
    • Scholarship grants are sent directly to bank accounts of scholars.  
    • Financial grants may be used for educational expenses like tuition, books, supplies, living expenses, and conduct of research. 
  • Scholar Development Programs
    • Access to capacity-building programs  
    • Get support from a community of educators

Eligibility Criteria for Master’s Scholarship

  • The applicant must have at least one (1) year of teaching experience and currently teaching: 
    • in either a public or private school, with the intent to teach as a K-12 public school teacher of science, math, or any STEM-related subject. 
    • in the tertiary level as instructor or professor of any STEM-related subject or course  
  • Must be a model of teaching excellence, innovativeness, care for learners, and commitment to serve  
  • Must be an incoming 1st year or 2nd year student in a master’s degree program in education specializing in science, technology, engineering, mathematics, alternative learning system, tech-voc training, or special education  
    • Ongoing MA student should be currently enrolled with at least six (6) units and must have at least 6 coursework units remaining 
  • He or She must have a weighted grade of at least 2.0 or its equivalent from the previously enrolled academic year  
  • Must be enrolled in GBF partner teacher education institution or a teacher education institution (TEI) within or above the national average LET performance  
  • Must have no failed, incomplete, or dropped grades from the previous semester  
  • The candidate must be of good moral standing with no existing disciplinary case 
  • Must be in need of financial support to complete their studies   
  • Preferably not a recipient of other scholarships

  • Master of Arts / Master of Science with areas of concentration in:
    • Science (General Science, Biology, Chemistry and Physics)
    • Mathematics
    • Library & Information Science / Data Science
    • Technology and Home Management
    • Technical Vocational (with Science and Technology Inclination)
  • Master of Arts in Education Management (MAEM)with areas of concentration in:
    • Educational Leadership / Educational Administration
    • Curriculum and Instruction
    • Measurement and Evaluation
    • Educational Technology
    • Non-Formal Education / Alternative Learning System
    • Special Education / Inclusive Education

Documentary Requirements

Following is the list of documents required to apply for Master’s Scholarship program:

  • Fully accomplished online application form which will be visible once you complete the eligibility questionnaire.
  • Proof of enrollment 
    • Submit certificate of registration for the current semester (1st term AY 24-25) enrolled with at least six (6) units
  • Certified true copy of grades from AY 23-24 or College Transcript of Records (for 1st year Master’s student)

  • Certificate of employment with starting date, rank, subjects teaching, and salary  
  • Scanned copy of PRC ID (Licensed Professional Teacher) 
  • Certificate of STEM-related accomplishments. 
    • This can be any certification showing the applicant’s participation and involvement in any STEM-related project or event in, but not limited to, the school where the applicant is employed or his/her local community.
  • Proof of residence  
    • Photo of residence, AND 
    • Proof of billing OR barangay certificate

The deadline date to apply for Gokongwei Brothers TeachSTEM College Scholarship is October 15, 2024.

The deadline date to apply for Gokongwei Brothers TeachSTEM Master’s Scholarship is October 31, 2024.
