DOST JLSS Scholarship 2024-2025 program is open for all eligible and interested college students in the Philippines. The Department of Science and Technology – DOST has recently announced the opening of its Junior Level Science Scholarship (JLSS) program for the Academic year 2024-2025.

DOST JLSS Scholarship 2024
The Department of Science and Technology – DOST has called in applications from all eligible and interested Filipino college students for its Junior Level Science Scholarship (JLSS) 2024 program.
The aim of DOST JLSS Scholarship are to provide scholarship grants to talented and deserving students in their third year of college who are pursuing degree programs in science and technology, as well as to ensure a steady, adequate supply of qualified S&T human resources who can steer the country toward national progress.
There are three main scholarships offered by the Department of Science and Technology under the DOST JLSS Scholarship program and they are as follows:
- DOST-SEI Merit Scholarship
- RA 7687
- RA 10612
DOST-SEI Merit Scholarship
The DOST-SEI Merit Scholarship Program, formerly known as the NSDB or NSTA Scholarship under RA No. 2067, is offered to students with high aptitude in science and mathematics who wish to pursue careers in science and technology.

Republic Act No. 7687, popularly known as the “Science and Technology Scholarship Act of 1994,” grants scholarships to deserving students whose families’ socioeconomic situation does not exceed particular cut-off numbers.
Qualifiers must pursue priority courses of study in the basic sciences, engineering, other applied sciences, and science and mathematics teaching.
RA 10612
Republic Act No. 10612 seeks to improve the country’s scientific and technology education by accelerating the recruitment of graduates in the sciences, mathematics, and engineering to teach science and mathematics in secondary schools around the country.

DOST JLSS Scholarship Benefits
Following is the list of benefits a DOST scholar will receive:
Regular Academic Year Benefits
- Tuition and other school fees – ₱40,000.00 / year
- Learning Materials + Connectivity Allowance – ₱10,000.00 / year
- Monthly Living Allowance – ₱7,000.00 / month
- Transportation Allowance – 1 economy-class roundtrip fare
- Group Health and Accident Insurance – Premium
- Thesis Allowance – ₱10,000.00
- Graduation Allowance – ₱1,000.00
Summer Allowance (if required in the curriculum)
- Tuition and other school fees – ₱10,000.00
- Learning Materials and/or Connectivity Allowance – ₱2,000.00 (outright grant)
- Monthly Living Allowance – ₱7,000.00 / month for two months

Qualifications for DOST JLSS Scholarship
To be eligible to apply for DOST JLSS Scholarship 2024, one must meet the following eligibility criteria:
- The applicant must be a Regular second year college student enrolled in a DOST-SEI priority S&T course at identified universities in the Second Semester of AY 2023-2024.
- He or She must have a General Weighted Average, GWA of at least 83% or its equivalent and with no conditional or failing mark from the First Semester of First Year until the First Semester of Second Year in college, including in the midyear terms, if enrolled.
- The candidate must be natural-born Filipino citizen.
- Should be of good moral character and in good health.
- The candidate may have:
- Applied for/taken the Junior Level Science Scholarship Examination but DID NOT QUALIFY for the scholarship.
- Qualified for the Junior Level Science Scholarship but DID NOT AVAIL of the scholarship award.

Scholarship Timeline and Exam Date
- The starting date of application period for DOST JLSS Scholarship is 4 March, 2024.
- The deadline date to apply for DOST JLSS Scholarship is 31 May, 2024.
- The Schedule of Qualifying Examination for DOST Scholarship is 28 July, 2024.
