The OWWA Scholarship 2025 program is now open to apply for all eligible college students in the Philippines. Recently, the Overseas Workers Filipino Administration (OWWA) made an important announcement on Facebook regarding the opening of the OWWA Scholarship program for the school year 2025-2026 and has encouraged all interested students to apply for this program.

OWWA Scholarship 2025

The OWWA Scholarship program is a financial assistance grant provided by the Overseas Workers Filipino Administration (OWWA) to the dependents of the OFWs in the Philippines. The Overseas Workers Filipino Administration has urged all eligible and interested students to apply for this scholarship program and avail its benefits.

Following is the scholarship programs that are now open to apply for SY 2025-2026:

• Congressional Migrant Workers Scholarship Program (CMWSP)

Education for Development Scholarship Program (EDSP)

The Education for Development Scholarship Program, popularly known as the OWWA EDSP Scholarship is a scholarship grant given to the qualified dependents or a sibling of a single active OWWA member.

For incoming freshmen, the selection of scholars is determined through the DOST national examinations. Only the top 1,000 qualifiers are considered for entry as freshmen; 600 slots are for those in 2nd to 5th year college level who are enrolled in any Philippine-based college or university.

Scholarship Benefits

The EDSP program offers a scholarship of Php60,000 per school year until they complete a four to five year baccalaureate course.

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for EDSP scholarship, the candidate must meet the following qualifications:

• The applicant must be Single
• The applicant must be not more than 21 years old for Incoming 1st year college and 30 years old for 2nd to 5th year college
• Must enroll or be studying in a Philippine-based college / university
• Must be a Grade 12 graduating student with a General Weighted Average (GWA) of 80% or its equivalent
• Students already enrolled in the 2nd to 5th year of college must have a GWA of not lower than a B letter grade or 85 percent.

Congressional Migrant Workers Scholarship Program (CMWSP)

The Congressional Migrant Workers Scholarship Program, popularly known as the OWWA CMWSP Scholarship is a scholarship grant given to the qualified dependents or a sibling of a single active OWWA member.

The funding for this Program is sourced from the PCSO through a replenishable allocation released to and maintained under a separate account by the OWWA Secretariat.

Scholarship Benefits

The CMWSP program offers a scholarship of Php60,000 per school year until they complete a four to five year baccalaureate course.

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for CMWSP scholarship, the candidate must meet the following qualifications:

• The applicant must be Single
• The applicant must be not more than 21 years old for Incoming 1st year college and 30 years old for 2nd to 5th year college
• Must be enrolled in a Philippine-based college / university
• Must have a GWA of 80% without failing grades or within 20% of graduating class for children of OFW
• Qualified dependents of OFWs whose Annual Family gross income of $2,400 or Php76,000 can apply
• He or She must not be receiving any other scholarships.

Documentary Requirements

The list of documents required to apply for the OWWA Scholarship program are as follows:

• Proof of Identity:
  • OFW – Valid Passport Copy of OFW Passport Bio or Information Page
  • Dependent- School I.D. or any available valid I.D.
  • ANY of the following: Birth Certificate or Baptismal
• Proof of grades from the previous School Year
  • Form 137 or Form 10 [TOR], Form 138 or Report Card, or Certificate of Grades from the School
• A 2×2 I.D. Picture of the OFW’s Dependent (Child or Sibling Applicant)
  • White background
  • With name tag and signature of applicant

OWWA Scholarship Application Timeline

The online application for the OWWA EDSP and CMWSP Scholarship programs is going to open on November 4, 2024.

The deadline date to apply for the OWWA Scholarship program is November 29, 2024.

Please note that the schedule of qualifying exam is April 5-6, 2025.
