The Civil Service Exam is a test for Filipinos who want to work for the government of the Philippines. The Civil Service Commission (CSC) has announced the Civil Service Exam – Pen and Paper Test (CSE-PPT) exam schedule for the CY 2024.

Civil Service Exam 2024-2025

The Civil Service Exam is a preliminary test conducted to ensure that qualified candidates receive Jobs in Philippine government sectors. This test is conducted twice a year and is administered by the Civil Service Commission of the Philippines.

Title of Examination: Career Service Examination for Foreign Service Officer (CSE-FSO)
Issuance Date of Exam Announcement: c/o DFA-BFSE (Department of Foreign Affairs- Board of Foreign Service Examinations)

CSE Professional and Sub-Professional levels*

Exam Date: March 3, 2024
Title of Examination: Civil Service Examination Professional and Sub-Professional levels
Issuance Date of Exam Announcement: Oct 30, 2023

FOE / POE / BCLTE

Exam Date: June 2, 2024
Title of Examination: FOE / POE / BCLTE – Fire Officer Examination / Penology Officer Examination / Basic Competency on Local Treasury Examination

The result dates for civil service exam 2024 are as follows:

CSE Exam Announcements

The CSC announcement further stated, “Except for the CSE-FSO, the CSC shall issue individual or separate examination announcements three (3) weeks before the start of each application period as indicated above.” The announcement must include extensive information on the following topics:

Scope of examination,
Passing grade,
Testing centers,
Qualification/Admission requirements,
Application/Documentary requirements,
Where to get the application form and how to file the application,
Target release of test results, and
Resulting civil service eligibility.

Qualifications for Civil Service Exam

Following is the list of general qualifications, a candidate must meet to be eligible for civil service exam:

The candidate must be a Filipino citizen
He / She must have a good moral character
He / She must not have been convicted by final judgment of an offense or crime involving moral turpitude, dishonesty, examination irregularity, drinking, or drug addiction
He / She must not have been dishonorably discharged from military service or fired for cause from any civilian government employment

Apart from this, specific exam may have their own set of qualifications.
